The World Transhumanist Association is an international nonprofit membership organization which advocates the ethical use of technology to expand human capacities. We support the development of and access to new technologies that enable everyone to enjoy better minds, better bodies and better lives. In other words, we want people to be better than well.

I know you remember me talking about Desktop Sidebar. These are some screenshots and link to the download site. It's done by Microsoft and it's clean software. No spam or garbage that you can't un-install. The instructions are simple but the program is very flexible.

This is by far my favorite topic. When all is said and done the magical possibilities of Nanotechnology may save us all (or kill us all if your a bit more tragic).

Click the links on the left side of the screen to see some articles on some new tech coming out soon. I didn't write all of them, but I made sure that the names of those who did are on them, as well as links to the sites that I found them on. They are (for me) an affirmation of my views of the future and hopefully prove my sanity. Right!

On the right side of the page I'm showcasing Mr. Drexler. I had been a fan of nanotech for many years, mostly through Sci-Fi writers and magazines like Discover and Popular Science, but it was Drexler's Engines of Creation that really solidified my thoughts as to the direction of modern technologies. A lot of the topics and principles are pretty basic and many of his predictions have already come to pass, but it still outlines the the general direction that we will most likely be taking in the future. The whole book is on his website for free. It's not a difficult read, and he explains, in layman's terms, what the technology can and will do. JUST READ IT!

K. Eric Drexler is a researcher, author, and policy advocate focused on emerging technologies and their consequences for the future. He pioneered studies of productive nanosystems and their products (the still-theoretical field originally termed “nanotechnology”). He has authored numerous technical publications on this topic as well as books including Engines of Creation: The Coming Era of Nanotechnology, which first introduced the basic concepts to a general audience, and Nanosystems: Molecular Machinery, Manufacturing, and Computation, an applied-physics analysis of advanced productive nanosystems.
