Raw Food

Ok, ok! I’ll finally admit it. My diet sucks and I need to change it. There, I said it. Happy? Fine? Fine.

My girlfriend Andee started incorporating raw foods into her diet a couple of weeks ago and really seems to enjoy it, so I’ve decided to work some into my diet as well. I have always liked veggies (contrary to popular belief) but I normally prefer them on a burger or steamed and dripping in butter. Mmmm Mm! Which, by the way, I still intend to eat, but will try to decrease the percentage of. Luckily there are excellent enzyme supplements to take with the “bad” foods I still intend to ingest.

So far for Andee the biggest problem has been finding snack type foods. She eats salads and greens all day (and makes a wonderful mock chicken salad), but when she sits down to watch TV or read a book she craves some kind of munchy. For me Häagen-Dazs still does it, what can I say. She has recently purchased several “cook” books on raw food that have several different kinds of snack food, but almost all of them require a food dehydrator.

So, off I went into the wild blue internet in search for a decent dehydrator to rescue my love from the clutches of healthy snack food boredom!  Whilst on my epic journey through the electronic labyrinth I discovered the Raw Bakery.

Happy Day! They have a lot of the snack foods shown in the cook books that you can buy already made, so we can try them before going to the effort of actually making them ourselves. They also have the best price on the Excalibur dehydrators that I’ve found. They also have some really great juicers. Andee’s was top of the line for 1974, but I think it’s time has past.

Andee also has a serious dark chocolate addiction. Luckily the Raw Bakery has a great selection of raw chocolate as well. I’ll even agree to have those as a dessert.
