Welcome to my web site!

You have probably arrived here because you have recently received a massage from me at the Professional Massage Center www.professionalmassagecenter.com, and you want to check out some of the things we talked about. I know I can talk a lot, and some of the stuff I talk about is a little…out there, so I’ll do my best to cover most of the topics I tend to discuss.

If you are at my site by some other path again I say welcome. The internet is a marvelous place but you can easily get lost in the crowd. Just so everyone here is on the same page I'm going  to give everyone a quick blurb on who I am and what I’ve been doing.

As the web site says, I'm Shawn Gilbert and I've been a massage therapist for 15 years (give or take). I moved to Palm Bay about 8 years ago from Portland Oregon at the encouragement of my best friend Paul Beach www.beachproductions.com. While going back to massage school to get my Florida license I met Andee who, after time, grew to love me. Go figure. We have now been together for going on 5 years.

You have probably noticed the pictures and symbols along the sides of the page. I am attempting to put links to pertinent web sites that reflect my beliefs and topics I have introduced you to. It won't be perfect, but give me some time.

Don't forget to check out my picture

Oh, don't forget to check out Paul's website on how to get the most car for your money! If you plan on buying a new care this could be the most important read of your life.

He pioneered studies of productive nanosystems and their products (the still-theoretical field originally termed “nanotechnology”). He has authored numerous technical publications on this topic as well as books including Engines of Creation: The Coming Era of Nanotechnology, which first introduced the basic concepts to a general audience, and Nanosystems: Molecular Machinery, Manufacturing, and Computation, an applied-physics analysis of advanced productive nanosystems.

I recently spent some time in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, helping with hurricane relief efforts, and I was deeply touched by the expanse of the devastation. I'm no stranger to the threat of hurricanes; I live in Palm Bay, Florida, and we got hit pretty hard in 2004.

But Jeanne and Francis were NOTHING like what I saw in the aftermath of Katrina. Quite frankly, I was stunned beyond my ability to describe it. My heart goes out to the people who lost their lives and their homes.

I'm only one little person, but I want to do something more to help. That's why I want to tell you about a different kind of house. It's a HURRICANE RESISTANT structure, and it is simply a better idea than the conventional, four walls and a truss, decking, shingle system house.

It's called a GEODESIC DOME, and they've been around for a few decades. These particular geodesic domes are a CONCRETE FORM structure - VERY tough! My friend calls these houses aesthetically challenged, but I think they look very cool, and they outclass conventional houses in every way!

The bottom line is this - Geodesic Dome Homes are a better idea. Period! I believe they're the way of the future. If you're faced with rebuilding after this terrible catastrophe, please do yourself the favor of looking into the option of a dome home. Maybe we can avoid this kind of devastation in the future.
